In Mrs. Hagstrom's first grade class students have been learning about comparing the length of two objects by comparing each with the length of a third object. Our challenge was to figure out which classroom objects could fit through the classroom door without moving the objects!

Trooper First Class James White from the Connecticut State Police will lead an interactive session for parents and caregivers to explore a wide range of topics including the various social media platforms students use, their behaviors online, and how they employ games and apps to keep information hidden. Participating in this session (bring a phone, tablet or laptop) will help you stay-up-to-date with the latest trends and equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to help keep our children safe in the digital world.

Katie's book, A Simple Seed teaches children and adults how to show gratitude in their daily lives through a morning journaling routine. Students in Miss. Garfield's 2nd grade class are working with their reading partners to read all types of nonfiction texts. They are learning how to identify key details about the text and share new learning in their own words. Students each read a different article and reported their findings to their partner.

In Mrs. Pelletier's first grade class we have been working hard building our reading skills! After our reading lesson the class rotated through reading stations. The students really enjoy practicing their reading skills through games, partner work, Lexia and small group with the teacher.

Music and PE collaborated together to do cardio drumming with every class. Students were challenged to play lots of rhythms on the drums while getting a full body workout!
