As of the 2024-2025 school year, per Connecticut state legislation, incoming Kindergarten students need to turn five on or before September 1st of their Kindergarten year. If your child is age-eligible to begin Kindergarten in the Fall of 2026 (born on or before September 1, 2021), please begin online registration. While the State of Connecticut allowed for flexibility regarding kindergarten waivers the past two years as families transition to this new law, the state is not requiring districts to offer that same flexibility moving into the 2026-2027 school year.
In the interest of classroom stability and long-term student success, Granby Public Schools will not be offering a waiver process for the 2026–2027 school year. Children born between September 2, 2021 and December 31, 2021 will not be age eligible for kindergarten until the 2027-28 school year.
