The Granby Capstone project measures how an individual student portrays the three pillars within the district mission.

The Granby Capstone is a multifaceted assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for students at the completion of Grades 2, 5, 8 and 12. This project measures how an individual student effectively portrays the three pillars within our district mission statement demonstrating their ability to become powerful thinkers, effective collaborators and compassionate contributors in preparation for success in a dynamic, interdependent world.

Capstone projects encourage students to think critically, persevere, problem solve, and develop goal setting, research, written communication, media literacy, teamwork, and public speaking skills. Students select a topic, profession, or social problem that interests them, conducts research on the subject, creates a product demonstrating their learning, and delivers an oral presentation to peers, teachers, experts or community members.
