Mission Statement

All students will become powerful thinkers, effective collaborators, and compassionate contributors in preparation for success in a dynamic, interdependent world.

Office of the Superintendent

I am delighted to welcome you to the Granby Public Schools.  Granby Public Schools is a high quality, 21st Century school system preparing students for participation in a global society. We are committed to graduating students on time prepared for 21st Century citizenship. Through their actions, our students are required to be critical thinkers, active learners, collaborators, effective communicators, and caring citizens.

Student learning is always our purpose and focus and student achievement is outstanding.  Over the past several years, Hartford Magazine and Connecticut Magazine have consistently recognized the school district’s performance.

There are four schools in the district: Kelly Lane Primary School (PK-2), Wells Road Intermediate School (3-5), Granby Memorial Middle School (6-8), and Granby Memorial High School (9-12). The three strategic initiatives that frame the work of the district are the (a) focus on learning for ALL students; (b) the implementation of professional learning communities; and, (c) the promotion of fiscal accountability and community involvement. The district is committed to the practices and culture of a professional learning community as our strategic plan to increase student learning.

There is much pride in the Granby Public Schools and it has a growing reputation for excellence. Teachers work in Granby because of the rich professional experiences and families settle here because of the reputation and quality of our 21st Century school system.
