Welcome to our MakerSpace

Students are welcome to tinker and explore in our MakerSpace in the Media Center. It is a place for us to design, invent, collaborate, connect and have fun using the principles of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics!

Thanks to the commitment of our school district to STEAM initiatives and the support of the GEF, PTO and Granby community, we have a multitude of diverse materials for kids to use and explore. Students use the MakerSpace during Media Center classes and during choice times from their classrooms to:

  • tinker with electronics, Ozobots, Cubelets, and Edison robots
  • build with magnetic tiles, legos, Keva Planks, K'Nex, or Brainflakes
  • create with washi tape, Perler beads, yarn, scrapbooking supplies
  • play various strategy games like chess, mancala, Q-Bits
  • try challenges with Gravity Maze, Circuit Maze, or Bloxels
  • use purchased and donated materials to imagine, plan, create, and improve in areas that spark their interest and imagination
