Winter brings us all together indoors for longer periods of time.  As a result, we typically see more illness in schools during those winter months.

There are many viruses, including the flu virus that can make you and your child feel downright awful during the winter.

Here are some helpful reminders:

Keep your child home while they are sick, especially if they have a fever (100.0 F orally), cough, rash, diarrhea or vomiting.   Symptoms should  have subsided for 24 hours  without medication before returning to school.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.  Germs spread  the fastest this way.

Cover your Cough!  Cough or sneeze into your elbow, and not your hands!

Wash your hands often with soap and water (especially before you eat or have used a tissue),hand-sanitizer gels are a good substitute if soap and water are not available

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill.

Get plenty of rest, Drink Plenty of water and make healthy food choices to keep your immune system fully charged

When possible, limit contact with those who are sick, or showing symptoms of illness.
