Opportunities for Gifted Students in Granby

The Granby Public Schools does not maintain a special pull-out program for gifted education. The needs of highly-abled students are addressed through an inclusionary model by offering students challenging curriculum and programs, differentiated instruction such as reader/writer workshop, guided reading groups in which students read at their instructional level, honors and advanced placement courses at the high school, and a multitude of enrichment clubs and activities geared toward higher level, critical thinking. Students at the high school have an opportunity to select on-line classes, concurrent enrollment in selected institutions of higher education, and informational links to programs outside the district that parents are welcome to investigate and pursue on their own. A number of informational documents are linked to this page.
