Broadcast Club

Advisor:  Laura Smith

The Kelly Lane Broadcast Club composes, films and airs a live morning news program from the WKLS News Room in the Media Center.

Sixth Grade Students may apply to be part of the Broadcast Club.  This year there will be four teams, working in two week rotations.

Students in the Broadcast Club learn to use state of the art sound and video equipment, along with digital cameras and Flip Video cameras and video editing software.  In addition, they will learn to find news items for broadcast, interview guests and students, and present the news in an interesting and informative manner.

Because of the complex equipment involved, students in the Broadcast Club will be held to the highest standards of personal conduct.

Interested sixth grade students may download a WKLS Application here.
