Mission Statement

All students will become powerful thinkers, effective collaborators, and compassionate contributors in preparation for success in a dynamic, interdependent world.

Principal's Welcome

We are excited this year as we to continue our “Kindness Matters” theme, as well as, our “Wells Road Houses” where students participate in cross-grade group activities throughout the year.  Our goal is to develop a positive school culture by having a common theme throughout the school and to broaden the social base for students beyond their classroom.

Our Wells Road pledge summarizes the beliefs of our community:

As a Wells Road individual, I pledge to come to
school with a positive attitude, be responsible,
respect one another’s opinion, be fair, honest and
trustworthy, and the best that I can be.

As a professional learning community we are engaged in a cycle of continuous improvement as we reflect on how to prepare our students to be powerful thinkers, effective collaborators and compassionate contributors.  Learning as preparation for 21stcentury citizenship is something we are proud of and take very seriously at Wells Road.

Teachers work collaboratively to calibrate their practice based on their analysis of student work and common assessments.   As powerful thinkers, our students are provided with opportunities to activate their prior knowledge so they can make connections to their daily lives, in addition to developing leadership roles that allow them to question each other and themselves.  As our students analyze options they are learning to articulate and defend their position.

Wells Road Intermediate School is also committed to developing students’ awareness of others and the world around us.  Students participate in a variety of local and national fund raising opportunities, such as, “Jump Rope for Hearts”, “Toys for Tots”,  and “Scholastic Pajama and Book program”  to name a few.

Our community would not be complete without our parents.  I encourage you to check our website as well as the teachers’ websites and digital backpack to stay informed with current and upcoming events.  The teachers and I look forward to working together with you to support the children at Wells Road Intermediate School.
